I worked as a cast member at Mountain River Ranch for the summers of 2003 and 2005. I also worked there when I came home for Christmas breaks until 2005.
At the end of August, 2003, I moved to Provo, Utah to attend Brigham Young University.
I loved BYU. I met some of my best friends here, and learned a lot of things, some of which were academic.
In 2006, I left Utah and BYU to serve a mission for the LDS Church in the Florida Tallahassee Mission, which covers the panhandle of Florida and the lower third of Alabama. I served just outside Mobile, Alabama, in Pensacola, Florida, in Panama City Beach, Florida, and in Andalusia, Alabama. I loved it.
In January 2008, I went back to BYU to finish my Bachelor's degree. At the end of February of that year, I started dating my long-time friend, Brian. We met our Freshman year at BYU.
We were married in January 2009.
In April, 2009, I officially graduated from BYU with a Bachelor of Science in Family Sciences.
My husband continued to pursue his degrees at BYU. He graduated with a B.S. in Computer Engineering in December of 2009, and a Masters of Information Technology in December of 2011.
We are very much a BYU family. Towards the end of 2009, we had our first baby, Michael.
In November, 2010, my husband got a job in South Provo that would turn into a full-time job when he finished classes. In May, 2011, we bought our first home in Saratoga Springs, Utah. We love it here.
In 2012, I applied to the City and Metropolitan Planning Masters' Program at the University of Utah, and I was accepted. However, I felt like this academic adventure needed to be put on hold. Someday, maybe I will pursue this, but for now, I'm loving being a stay-at-home mom.
In January of this year, we had our second child, Rachel. We feel so incredibly blessed to have our two, beautiful children.
In the decade since graduation, I've traveled across the US, with roadtrips/visits to California, Washington, Wyoming (whoop whoop, right?), Nevada, Kansas, Georgia, Alabama, Florida, and Washington, D.C. In the next ten years, we hope to visit at least one other country.
Sorry if this is too long; ten years is a long time! And, unfortunately, due to all the family stuff we have going on this summer, we won't be able to attend the reunion in August. Again, I hope that things have gone well for everyone these past ten years, and I hope that they get even better in the next ten.
Best,
Devri Chadwick Saville
